Acura Legend KA7 Shifter
One of a kind hand crafted shifter
A custom multi-material shifter for an Acura KA7 Legend. This project involved shaping raw fluorite stone and integrating it with hand-carved wood, 3D printed and cast metal. 3D Printing was utilized for the 17-4PH stainless steel parts, such as the outer frame and emblem. The trigger and surrounding is cast in zinc-aluminum alloy to give weight as the original Honda part had a weighted shift trigger, making it light would ruin the high quality feel. The wood is burl maple to match the interior details and materials. Under the emblem as a strip along the front top is blue fluorite ground and shaped to tie into the 'Island' theme the owner was going for. At night there is a subtle glow from the fluorite as I added pigmentation underneath to further tie in the Island theme.
