Project Description: Unauthorized planting of trees to provide future shade in a barren parking lot where .

Goal: Our mission was to provide tree shade that didn't need further maintenance past the first year.

Outcome: Using young California native trees and similar varieties that can deal with rocky soil and the proper amount of water needed to survive in Southern California turned into a success after the first year of watering. Most of the trees grow at rapid rate of 4 to 6 feet a year and should be able to provide sufficient shade within the next few years.
