Project Description: An always on, multi-protocol, communication encrypted bot.
Goal: A simple way to administer non-critical but sometimes essential tasks inside a local network from a remote point.
Outcome: Perfect simplicity. With our bot 'Gimpy', we're able to issue commands via Jabber or over HTTP with end-to-end encryption. At the same time, Gimpy monitors our servers and if something is wrong, it will alert us in whichever way we're currently available, IM, E-Mail, and even SMS.
Updates
Apr 25, 2011 - Inspiration
In case anyone is confused or is wondering about the inspiration for Gimpy, we modeled him and his mannerisms after GIR, a character from Invader Zim
Apr 11, 2011 - Gimpy Source
Included Gimpy source and some of his basic commands, excluding internaly developed components for some administration tasks.
